1. Decide on a realistic budget
2. Decide on what amenities are absolutely required (i.e. beach front hotels normally cost 100% more than a hotel one block from the beach).
3. Find a hotel website that allows you to sort by price and star information and provides many traveler reviews.
4. Spend the time and effort (usually around 1 hour) to sort through the list of hotels to find the best hotel at the best price.
